The Equal Parenting Alliance supports the Conservative’s tentative proposals to give £20 tax breaks to married couples. We agree that marriage is the best foundation for raising children in our society.

2007 Election Fund
As you are probably now aware, there are going to be two By-Elections on the 19th July. The first is Tony Blair’s constituency, Sedgefield. The second is Ealing Southall, in London, due to the death of the Labour MP.
We’d like to fight both these seats, but barely have enough cash at the moment to fight one of them, coming so soon after the May elections. We think fighting both seats would get us noticed “who’s this party fighting both seats? Maybe …
The Child Maintenance and Other Payments Bill – setting out the Government’s plans for replacing the CSA – will have its second reading in the House of Commons today. We predict that C-MEC will fail as surely as the CSA failed, and for most of the same reasons.
It is generally agreed that the CSA was a failure.
We are concerned the reasons for the failure will not be understood by the government which – without acknowledging the real reasons – is destined to repeat the same mistakes again.
