Elections are an expensive business. We intend to put up as many candidates as we can afford but we have no funding apart from donations and subscriptions from members.

We need around two thousand pounds to fight each general election seat; briefly this is composed of a £500 deposit, about £700 to print election leaflets and about £800 of miscellaneous expenses.

Of course, if we gained more than 5% of the vote we would get our deposit back, but realistically we certainly cannot plan for that happy event in our costings!
