“Mummy is going to get a gun so she can kill you.”

Last year Lord Justice Ward spoke out publicly against the “not untypical” practice of vengeful mothers poisoning the minds of children against their fathers[1]. Sadly, it is not untypical of what our members experience either. The father who kept the following diary of comments made by his 2 boys during contact visits over the last year assures us that none of these things his sons have been told about him by their mother are true.


 

 

 

 

Child A

Mummy says nanny beats me up

Child A

I hate nanny – mummy says

Child A

PC x comes to our house. He’s mummy’s friend and she makes him cups of tea. PC x takes you away because you are naughty. Mummy says you are naughty because you were outside our house last night when it was dark

Child B

I don’t love you. I don’t want to live with you. Mummy told me

Child A

I want to stay with you daddy

Child B

I want to stay with you. I really miss you. Where have you been? I want to stay at nanny’s with you.

Child A

Mummy’s scared of you. You attacked her and she is really really scared.

Child B

You scratched her on the neck. You held her neck and she told the policeman. You scratched mummy’s neck. The policeman took you away – your horrible.

Child A

Mummy says when we get out of the car we have got to run up to her

Child A

I have got to be quiet – say nothing because mummy told me off. I have to be quiet.

Child A

I want to phone you but PC x told mummy that she must not phone daddy because he is naughty

Child A

Mummy says you stole us when we were babies

Child A

I’m not allowed to kiss daddy mummy says

Child A

mummy’s told me not to talk to you

Child A

I love you daddy – I love you too A – I don’t believe you – Why? – Mummy’s told me never to believe you

B – (Half-sister’s name) told me not to run to the car. A – We have got to walk to nanny and run to mummy.

Child A

Goodbye horrible granddad

Child A

(to grandparents) You two are horrible – Mummy said

Child B

It was lovely when we were babies because we saw you. We saw you every day when we were babies, it was lovely.

Child A

If you don’t hurt mummy you can come round and see my toys.

Both

A - Your naughty, mummy’s going to get a gun. B – So she can kill you.

Both

A – You broke mummy’s car. You punctured her tyre. B – Mummy crashed her car and the paint peeled off

Child A

Your nasty to mummy and you hurt her. You held mummy by the neck like this (Child demonstrated)

Child B

Mummy says we are not allowed to change our clothes. (Man’s name) keeps telling us to shut up.

Both

A – There is a photo of you at home.  B – and mummy broke it into pieces

Child  A

(Child-minder’s name) is lovely. My mummy hates her. My mummy says she is horrible.

B

Did you tell mummy you played with your cousins on Tuesday? Mummy says she does not like them. They are horrible and naughty

Both

Mummy says daddy’s horrible

A

I wanted to make you a card but my mummy would not let me. I wanted to say that I missed you but mummy would not let me.

B

You kicked the bunk beds over when we were babies and you had been nasty. Mummy says that daddy was horrible.

B

We are not allowed to go camping because mummy has said that we cannot go
